Truckmate joins Foton’s light-commercial range
Foton introduced the Truckmate to South Africa in June 2025, extending its range of vehicles aimed at small businesses and everyday transport tasks.
The launch centred on two body types: a dropside for accessible loading and a van-style box body for enclosed cargo. Announced payloads were 1.2 tonnes and 1.1 tonnes respectively.
Designed around working use
An 82 kW engine with 142 Nm drives through a five-speed manual transmission. ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution were included in the launch specification.
The Truckmate’s role is straightforward: carrying goods or equipment in a compact commercial format. The appropriate body and equipment depend on the work, so compare your usual load with the current model details.
