First look at the Tunland V7 and V9

Foton’s November 2025 V-Series reveal introduced the Tunland V7 and V9 to the South African market. Both were presented with a 2.0-litre AUCAN diesel engine, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The announcement listed outputs of 120 kW and 450 Nm for the powertrain. Buyers were offered 4×2 and 4×4 derivatives, with equipment varying across the range.
A choice of suspension layouts
The V7’s leaf-sprung rear suspension reflects its load-carrying emphasis. The V9’s multi-link arrangement places greater emphasis on ride comfort. That difference is central to comparing the two vehicles, beyond styling alone.
The reveal also highlighted digital cabin technology and driver-assistance equipment. Check the current derivative specification with Thorp Foton when comparing features, as launch information describes the range at the time of announcement.
